Salt Was Always in Her DNA

Some people find their calling. Beata Hatley was born into hers.
Growing up in Poland, Beata was raised in a world shaped by the earth beneath her feet. Her
father, a geologist with a doctorate in mining engineering ,dedicated his career to understanding
what the ground could teach us. He was a man who paid attention. And what he noticed,
working alongside the miners of Poland, would quietly plant the seed of everything that came
after.

While coal miners suffered their lungs darkened, their health steadily diminished – the salt
miners of the legendary Wieliczka Salt Mine told a different story entirely. They were healthier.
More vital. Their respiratory systems stronger. Their bodies more resilient. The salt mine, it
turned out, wasn’t just a place to extract a resource. It was a place to heal.
Wieliczka – carved continuously since the Middle Ages, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the
birthplace of halotherapy – became the foundation of Beata’s lifelong understanding of salt as
medicine. Not a supplement. Not a trend. A living, breathing, ancient therapy. Pure wet salt
therapy, just as nature designed it. No generators. No machines. Just salt and air and time.

From Poland to Texas – America’s First Salt Cave

When Beata came to the United States and settled in the Texas Hill Country, she brought that
knowledge with he and she built something no one had built before.
In Boerne, Texas- at Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort, Beata created the first salt therapy
cave in the state of Texas and one of the first of its kind anywhere in America. Visitors who
walked through the door didn’t know what to expect. They left understanding something they
had never been able to explain why they breathed easier, slept deeper, felt lighter.
Word spread. The phone started ringing. And Puresolspa was born.

What began as one woman’s mission has grown into one of the most respected salt cave
design and construction companies in North America and Europe. Salt Cave Pro Design has
now built more than 200 salt caves – for spas, wellness centers, medical offices, hotels, fitness
clubs, swimming facilities and private residences across the world.
Every cave we build carries the same DNA: authentic wet salt therapy rooted in the Wieliczka
tradition, uncompromising craftsmanship and a deep commitment to creating spaces that
genuinely heal. We don’t use generators. We don’t cut corners. We build environments that
work because the science is real, the history is real and the results our clients experience are
real.
